Thanks For a Fun Evening from First Friday Main Line!

Here at First Friday Main Line, we love all of you out there in the community for continuing to support us! We had so much fun on Friday and in addition to our photos to share, we have a couple of little YouTube snippets courtesy of Save Ardmore Coalition:

First Friday Jazz on The Street Ardmore - in Front of Super Suppers!

The Main Line Loves Ricki Peterson!

Ok here at First Friday Main Line we all know and love Ricki Peterson of Creative Way...apprently our feelings are felt by others as she shows up this week in the Suburban and Wayne Times "Reader of the Week"! (we didn't know that the Suburban covered non- Wayne people, so we find this really cool!)

Stay tuned for hot news for us on our Love-ly theme for February 1st, 2008, which is First Friday Main Line and "Main Line Loves You", but here read about our own darling Ricki:

Reader of the Week: Ricki Peterson
A passion for peace
By Rachel Perry

Ricki Petersen, it seems, has never been shy about expressing her passion for the things that she believes in. That’s why when she displayed an anti-war sign in the window of her Bryn Mawr shop, Creative Way Needlepoint, and subsequently lost a few customers, she wasn’t fazed.

It's Here! It's First Friday Main Line!

And taa, daa! Here is the line up:

First Friday Main Line Poster Contest Spotlights Our Artists of Tomorrow!

Ty Shoehngen 11th

Here at First Friday Main Line, fostering the artists of tomorrow is something we take quite seriously. Just like we believe art appreciation starts young. That being said, we wanted to share with you part of our theme for November which is a total celebration of our young people in all of our local schools in our community: we are sponsoring a student poster art contest! Here's what we sent out to get the ball rolling:

First Friday Main Line POSTER CONTEST:
We would like to feature your student’s work for our 1st annual FFML poster contest.

The FFML poster contest is open to students in public and private elementary, middle and high schools with prizes for each age group.

Selected artwork will be exhibited in businesses throughout Ardmore, Haverford and Bryn during the month of November. To be juried, all work must be submitted to First Friday Main Line by October 15th, 2007 and will be posted on the First Friday Website, www.Firstfridaymainline.com so that the public can vote for the favorites in the elementary, middle and high school category.

Artwork Theme: Art in Unexpected Places.

Work May be in any media and should be basically two dimensional (reliefs are acceptable) and in a 9” x 12” format. Work cannot be too heavy to hang easily in a store window. Only one piece may be submitted per student and it must be labeled on the with the standard label attached.

Click here for poster art submissions received thus far.

Saying Good Bye To Sam Frank

Mike Frank is the genius behind the First Friday Main Line music, as well as being an Ardmore guy and a heck of a human being. Mike lost his dad, and we would like to take a moment to remember Sam Frank and share his obituary with all of you:

Sam Frank, age 75, died on September 15th at Emerson Hospital, surrounded by family, friends and the music that he loved. Sam died after a brief illness and after the rare second blooming of his well-tended beach roses.
