WHAT: Back on July 23, 2005, ten neighborhood groups participated in a unique citywide community video history project – Precious Places. On a single day, members of neighborhood organization who had been trained in filmmaking and research techniques, dispersed throughout the region recording stories of past grandeur, current struggles, and future aspirations for their communities.
Scribe conceived the Precious Places community history project as a way for neighborhood residents to document the people, buildings, public spaces and landmarks that hold the memory of a community and define where we live.
