People keep talking about that Infiniti development...but so many people are so fixated on the buildings, we have to ask again: what about the environmental??? Again, part of our concerns? Well for one, where are environmental test results? A Talone was a dry cleaner for what? A century? Doesn't that pre-date anything like the EPA, and PA DEP? Doesn't that precede any environmental awareness? How will they treat the construction site? How will they dispose of any contamination? What about asbestos? Lead paint? Shouldn't this site be treated like a mini-brownfield? Well, the PA DEP website is slow, slow, slow to load, but if you noodle around there is loads of helpful information....one thing we found was a hotline phone number: 484-250-5991....O.k. so maybe for A.Talone to sell to Inifinti some degree of testing was done - but c'mon, dry cleaning chemicals are a toxic hazardous waste party! Do you want to be a guest at that table if you live on streets like Holland Avenue? And how do any residuals of these chemicals affect stormwater management and runoff during and after construction? We did a little Googling and we found something disturbing - a website called Planet Hazard. Ardmore is on it. And so is A.Talone. We take no responsibility for their accuracy, but we thought you'd like to see some of their data:
Here is some more information on Planet Hazard
We also suggest you check a site called Scorecard |
