UPDATE! Today is the day, Happy St. Patrick's Day, officially known as Moira Day in Ardmore! See you all in a few hours!
The Ides of March left us a snow present. Today is Saturday, March 17th and is also Saint Patrick's Day. Today, Saturday, March 17th is also the community fundraiser for Moira Shaughnessy! We're so excited about this all coming together the way it has, and before we promote the mentions in other papers plus Cheryl Allison's continued coverage, we thought we mention something again- Tonight is a DUI checkpoint weekend in Lower Merion and undoubtedly in Radnor and many other local municipalities. Please don't drink and drive, be safe and smart. Also, since it snowed and sleeted, and one of our members has already called and e-mailed the township to ask for extra special attention to Ardmore's municipal parking lots and the spaces along Lancaster where there are meters. We also *hope* that there are NOT too many municipal related vehicles and municipal personnel private vehicles in too many of the municipal spaces designated for the public. We are going to need every available parking space in Ardmore! (Snow removal is key as well)We look forward to seeing everyone this evening and here's the coverage:

Support for ailing Ardmore Initiative Executive Director Moira Shaughnessy is multiplying in the Ardmore and Lower Merion community like spring daffodils on an Irish hillside.
Ardmore businesses, civic groups and individuals, moved by the story of her devastating illness with viral encephalitis, are coming together for a St. Patrick's Day benefit at Brownie's 23 East on Lancaster Avenue.
And they're taking the event's "Get Out Your Green" theme literally.
Even before the fundraiser kicks off this Saturday at 6 p.m., thousands of dollars have flowed in to help Shaughnessy and her family.....Altogether, before the doors open for a night of music, food and silent auctions, more than $15,000 has been raised....In addition to the business authority, which is spearheading the effort, the Ardmore Business Association, the Save Ardmore Coalition, First Friday Main Line and many others are putting their time and talents into the community effort. Vilardo said, "It really has been a cooperative effort. It's only worked because everyone is together."
Restaurants and businesses including Milkboy Coffee, Super Suppers, Cricket Catering, Carlino's Italian Market and Trader Joe's are providing food. Brownie's owner Joe Rufo is hosting the event and donating beer and wine. A full roster of singers and musicians have volunteered to entertain, through 9 p.m. and beyond. Photographer Joanne Posse of Gladwyne is donating her services to document the evening.....Her family continues to take her to the hospital for several hours of therapy daily, and she needs constant care. The Ardmore Initiative has continued to provide financial assistance, but the costs, not all of which are covered by insurance, are climbing.
Proceeds of this weekend's fundraiser - tickets are $20 for adults; children under 12 will be admitted free - will help....For information, call The Ardmore Initiative at 610-645-0540.
Donations may also be made by sending checks to:
The Moira Shaughnessy Medical Fund c/o TD BankNorth, 551 W. Lancaster Ave., Haverford PA 19041.

Erin Go Snow Plow! Happy St Patrick's Day! It is 9:43 a.m. and we are starting the official snow removal NAG. And we will NAG all day long! There is NO reason why Lower Merion should NOT have our streets and parking lots cleared for Moira's Fundraiser! And PennDOT needs a swift kick in the ass because the roads which fall to state responsibility are a disgrace!
