PECO ENERGY! SAC HAS YOU ON THE RADAR.....AGAIN!
|
So as previously reported, ummm, a few members received this e-mail, which said in part:
We further said the other day:
Now we hear residents are having unexplained outages as well. We also hear that PECO is "looking into it". Small business owners have asked us just today: how long does it take to look into outages that have been occuring off and on for years? Ohhhhhhh, now SAC doesn't like hearing those things PECO...and PECO, you remember the LAST TIME we got involved? It started with http://www.saveardmorecoalition.org/node/799, then there was, http://www.saveardmorecoalition.org/node/837, http://www.saveardmorecoalition.org/node/842, http://www.saveardmorecoalition.org/node/827, http://www.saveardmorecoalition.org/node/859, and even posts from other blogs up here, including this one: http://www.saveardmorecoalition.org/node/1042 Sooooo....PECO, you getting where we're going? We have an unnatural utility habit, because basically we feel consumers (us) should get what we pay for....we pay through the nose...so we should receive in return Ritz Carlton service.... Small businesses have a hard enough time staying in business without having to deal with mystical power outages that someone is "studying". Consider this post as but the beginning of public pressure to not only reserach the problems but to SOLVE them. Our members are being relatively well behaved for the time being. Remember that. Over on County line Rd, where i live, we are surrounded by businesses. I started to notice my lights in the house would flicker, about a year ago. Currently, we experience a power draw about every twenty minutes or so where all the lights in the neighborhood flicker. Since I have a computer and expensive electronic appliances I've been thinking about calling PECO to have the situation rectified. I wonder how easy this will be since I can see that the problems on lancaster are way worse than here and are not being addressed. I pay my bills so I expect continous and un-interrupted service from the electric company on normal operating days and I'm just not getting that currently. Does anyone have advice on how to go about contacting PECO on this issue?

permalinkAs a stopgap measure in the meantime, I would recommend getting a UPS for your computer. That will protect it against power sags, surges, and spikes.
A good site to start looking is http://www.buyuptime.com/ For a computer and an inkjet printer, one of the smaller UPSes should work just fine for you.
