Just giving a heads up to a very nice event happening this Sunday at Normandy Botanical Gardens at Cricket and Normandy Ave. in Ardmore.
South Ardmore Betterment Alliance (SABA)
MUSIC IN THE PARK – FREE CONCERT
Normandy Botanical Garden and Park (Normandy & Cricket Aves.)
Sunday, October 7, 2007 (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
Featuring Sharon Little and Scott Sax – regulars on WXPN, Grammy-winning songwriter, and recently at Ardmore’s own Milkboy – FREE!
SABA will be holding its 3rd Annual Music Festival and Children's Garden Planting at Normandy Botanical Gardens and Park. This lovely community park is located at Cricket and Normandy Ave. in South Ardmore. The day will begin with events children will love, in a beautiful park, along with music from local artists who are making names for themselves.
Spring Bulb Planting at 11:00 a.m.
Spring bulb planting is always a lot of fun for everyone – and just a little educational – for the kids, as we continue to develop a beautiful, local community park in South Ardmore.
Live Music –12:30 p.m.
(featuring local artists along with renowned Sharon Little and Scott Sax)
• Live, musical performances begin with the wonderful and talented children’s performer, Brenda Rose. Brenda has always been a hit with the kids in year’s past, and she is a great reason to bring your kids to the park!
• Also appearing is David Cohen, whose performances have been hits with kids and adults alike in the past two music festivals. David performs locally with several groups, and is one of the best guitar players and singers you'll ever hear.
• Other featured local artists include Rebecca White and Tom Wagner, in their first local appearance, and local singer/songwriter Terry O'Conner!
• Bringing it all home will be a great FREE concert by renowned local performers Sharon Little and Scot Sax, and their band!! Sharon and Scot have been hits at the Milkboy Coffehouse locally, and Scot's songs have been hits nationally, and they're preparing for a national break-out. Right here in Ardmore lives Sharon Little, a fresh new singer-songwriter (think Norah meets Joss) who in the last 6 months has toured the country twice, recieved regualr airplay on WXPN and gained more thana little buzz in NY and LA. Little performs with her co-writer Scot Sax, who recently saw his co-written song "Like We Never Loved At All" by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw win a Grammy. The duo just may put Ardmore on the rock and roll map!
