Pennsylvania --- School Property Tax ELIMINATION Act of 2007

New Legislation is expected to be introduced in Harrisburg in October 2007 ---- Vote could occur within days!

This is NOT another rebate plan like that ridiculous (Act 1) your state Representatives tried to convince you was tax relief. This bill has been worked behind closed doors for the last 4 years by a bipartisan team. The original concept was the idea of Rep. Sam Rohrer (R-Bucks) and it is REAL Outside-of-the-box-Thinking. The team has taken the extra step and had it analyzed by three independent financial firms who found it to be financially sound. During development input and workarounds were received from a variety of sources including businesses and the Pennsylvania Coalition of Taxpayer Associations.

Few people in the state know about this bill, as the media attention has been spotty. People we are finding are also completely disgusted and totally confused with this administration's effort towards tax reform and have tuned out. As a result many state officials are receiving little or no feedback and "advise" from their area's residents. Just a few calls or letters could make all the difference.

Dirty politics has thrown up roadblocks to this strategy for the last two years and it continues to be a threat. The lousy track record of our elected officials and their inability to recognize or provide the tax relief we all want makes their motives suspect. Therefore DO NOT allow your representatives to vote on this issue without receiving feedback from YOU. If they fail you with their vote, keep that in mind at the polls next year.

DO NOT sit back and ASSUME Harrisburg will get this right.

A simple letter or message is fine but Please MAKE THIS CLEAR:
" I urge you to SUPPORT the bipartisan School Property Tax Elimination Act of 2007 AND oppose all "relief" plans. ELIMINATING all local school taxes and using state taxes the way it is proposed in this bill just makes sense. This bill will have a positive effect on my family and community."

[b] As of Friday Oct 5 we have doubled the number of supporters to 80 but still need approximately 22 more votes in the House. Philadelphia and it's surrounding counties could tilt the decision in our favor if we can get help [b]
