Disclaimer: SAC believes in full disclosure. The facts as they have been relayed to us are believed to be 100% truthful. We know a politician or two will get their knickers in a twist undoubtedly. They are free to post their responses as their First Amendment rights. We believe the truth is the ultimate defense, and why would these residents lie? They have no reason to, and they aren't..they are merely trying to NOT get screwed over AGAIN.

The group WHOA has asked for support of groups and residents township-wide over Waverly Heights and their unending quest for Institutional Sprawl. We have been talking about Waverly Heights almost as long as Ardmore. Not only do you need to attend this public meeting October 10th , if you have not read "Q: Why don't institutions care about their neighbors?" you should!

And we hope that all of you realize that this is something we ALL should care about, because what is allowed here, could be precedence setting. And like others, we want to know the answer to an interesting question, what is former Commissioner for Gladwyne doing now? What is so bad about what amounts to a green bench around Waverly? Isn't it for safety? We don't understand this anymore then we understood Baldwin trying to fight their neighbors over a similar request, right? And if Waverly doesn't have the ability to do their own stormwater management on their own land, why should taxpayers allow it on public park land? Are we all going to get checks from Waverly Heights on an annual basis?

The Waverly Heights issue as we know it began first in what we believe was when the Junkin Estate was sold to whomever to start this nursing home/senior living facility, right? Was it known back then as the Junkin estate or the Rea estate? Does anyone remember the history of the deal or the deal makers? That was what, the early 80s?

Waverly Heights is an institution. Total David vs. Goliath whenever the neighbors have an issue. So what is a former commissioner who "retired" during our eminent domain fun doing? He wasn't appointed a lobbyist for Lower Merion Township, so now this? We're not saying folks don't have a right to earn a living, mind you, but...shouldn't they be able to find work outside the township? Is that what public service truly means? Going back to where you once sat before your chair seat is cold to undue the good you were supposed to have done as an elected official? People are entitled to their career paths, but seriously why go from elected offcial to Carrion Crows or Vultures? These are men capable of the greater good, so why can't they just do that?

SAC is lobbying for the residents of Gladwyne. Can it be said that this particular institution needs to learn to play nicely with others?
