Fellini Cafe Ardmore
Fellini Cafe has been a hot topic up here for a long time. Have they improved or worsened? Most of the recent reviews we have seen on the web are mixed at best, and what is very interesting is the very long thread found on PhillyBlog and here are some excerpts:

(they also had a carry out place with a really really really really creepy guy working there (would invite himself over to eat dinner when you picked up your meal) in Havertown).
Sorry you had a bad experience - i say let those that like the place, keep on going , but some of us, unfortunately will never give it another chance. them r the breaks.
My Question :
Just chiming in here , who was the creepy guy ?? Pino or another name ?? I use to work there and I could tell you alot of interesting stories about this place ...However get back to me ...

And then...from Medusa that thing with the wine again that someone posts about up here....
And then this comment with definite gross us out factor:

Interesting discussion.... I ate at Fellini's in Ardmore about a year ago and have never been back. The food and service were okay, but I was completely turned off by what I witnessed with friends while chatting outside after our meal. The restaurant had just closed (or was nearly closed) and something in the window caught my eye. The mice started emerging from every direction... crawling up and down the trees, the beams, the vines... having a grand time. I was so surprised by the number of mice crawling, that I felt compelled to start counting: at least 8. I called Fellini's the next day to let them know...
And then this one:
mixolydian Pretzel Vendor:
"I just saw this thread was updated, so I thought I'd take a look. I posted something here last year. All I know is that I'm real, and that the food was less than mediocre the one time I went there. I live about 6 blocks from the restaurant, and walk by every day on my way to the train, and every day on my way home. There is something weird about the place, but I don't know what it is. For whatever reason, the posts slamming the place don't surprise me because I find the place creepy; just walking by it creeps me out. The tables look dirty outside and the food was bad enough that I never gave it a second chance."
Fellinis continues to disappoint us - many of us used to go there quite often, but after the check debacle with First Friday Main Line - and let's face it, they have profited by the attention to Ardmore during those First Fridays, right? And if all those people stand outside and pay for food, how can they not pay bills? And why so many issues with the sidewalk dining?
Here we are say "Be Vocal/Shop Local: Discover More in Ardmore" and these folks, well, are they living up to their end of the bargain? Most don't like to be one of our sour notes.
But public records on www.montcopa.org tell the whole story:

Ok, I didn't want to bring this up before regarding Fellini since it came from a 2nd hand source, but now that I see someone had a similar experience I have to confirn this one. The mice issue. A good friend of mine who did some of the plumbing work for them and also at the other location told me not to eat there due to mice infestations. He said the basement was crawling with them and that they had food out and exposed in the basement that the mice were all over. He said he saw this while working in the basement at both locations - that it was the result of the owners attitude and basically not caring at all about these things. I tell everyone I care about not to eat there.
Sorry for this info. if you have eaten in this place. I hope the health inspector gets a call.

permalinkCheck this out - Fellini just continues to be SUCH a "good" neighbor. The township told them to 86 the raised platforms that proved a sidewalk hazard, so they decided instead to have both stand umbrellas and awnings - neither of which are particularly tall. So if the edge of the umbrella doesn't getcha on the way past, you might just trip on the umbrella stand!
Pulse check: how does everyone feel about Fellini Cafe? They don't seem so popular these days, do they? It seems tons of people are still going to HuNan, and they also flock to JR Monaghan's, but doesn't Fellini seem more empty?
