This is NOT a political endorsement. This is an exciting time to be an American, and among our most precious rights, is the right to vote. It doesn’t matter what your political persuasion, we should check out each candidate as individuals, and see who suits us. If you have the opportunity to meet a candidate or candidate’s representative, meet them - educate yourselves. That way, you stand the best chance of making the decision right for you, the individual. Don't limit yourselves - meet who you can meet. It's a cool experience!

Yesterday, a couple of our member got invited to an Obama event in the north side of Haverford - yes - across from Merion Cricket Club. But the thing is this, we don't, as Americans, often get the chance to meet important political figures in a relaxed setting - let alone go for free.

So last night, our members went to learn as well as meeting a person SAC thinks is pretty darn cool: Mayor Shirley Jackson of Atlanta, GA !
Mayor Shirley Jackson
We first introduced all of you to Mayor Jackson here, because of a news report about a big city Mayor who had the guts to take on irresponsible development and McMansions. She is an advocate for positive change, master planning prcoesses, inclusive development, and so on, so what's not to like?

Anyway, here is a lopsided video of what Mayor Jackson had to say:

Please note that if any of the other Presidential candidates showed as much interest in the ordinary folks, we'd be happy to attend their local events as well, schedules permitting....but none of them seem too interested and isn't that sad?
