I may not be from the same area as the folks on this page but I am facing similar hurt. In the small city of Baldwin Park, CA. There is a disasterous move going on. They are looking to take over 150 acres of land for Bizno. They want to take many homes and buisnesses that are around the area. This particular area is to be molded into a beautiful downtown and bring shopping back to the town. The area is in need of some remodeling but they bring revenue to the city. It is prodominitly Mexicain there. I should say many forms of HIspanic because there is a mix of cultures from Mexico all the way through Central American. There buisnesses sell well to the people and bring people from all over. My girlfriend's father and deceased mother started a bakery here. There home is here and they grew up here. There is no reason for another Starbucks to rear it's ugly yet at times delicious head out. The city council did not inform us and they are stopping at nothing to get what they want. There has been a spike in crimes in the particular area that they want to take. Also they fired the Police Chief for no reason and now the police are angry. In an area where we need the police to be strong and more of, we take away the King in this chess game of life that the city council wants to turn to checkers. Skemy deals and dirty money is reaking up the building where no one makes any diffrence in speaking at the city council meetings. I am now a lone wolf ready to take down the forces that stand in the way of my life and the lifes of so many others that just want to live. Not fear that one day they will have no home. One day they will have to give there buisness away. One day they will not be able to call Baldwin Park home. No one is helping them and know I want to change that. I support the actions of all that stand against the injustice that is eminent domain. We may be fighting in diffrent parts of the country but we all fight for the same cause and goal. We want change but we do not want to be forced from our homes. Have people say that blighted areas are all around when there is nothing to support that statement. I ask any of you that read this to give your input on this subject. Communication is where most fail I want a network ready to take down a system and save not just what we love and care for. But the others that are not yet affected but after you all move and they have to pay the Billions in taxes and then find out they too have to move so that there is nothing but white people. I say this not as racisim. I am caucasion myself but the point is I have been watching this for a while now. In California there are hubs. These hubs act as a way to spread a certain thing. I saw the city of Rancho Cucamonga change in a matter of years to become a city everyone wanted to visit. It was nice, clean, and white. Soon the citys around it became more white and the citys got repairs to it in that order. I see the hubs in Orange County and L.A. County. This is all just to make us more like Pasadena which is around 18 miles away. We need to keep things the way they are and not try to make everything more uniform than it was the day before.
