Meltdown Lisa?

Is Lisa Paolino a politician in meltdown mode? A lot of people are wondering, given the childish and silly "press release" on her blob where she accuses other campaigns of "harassing" her. Seriously? Does that now mean that the judge who told her to stop the madness today in Delco, as well as the judge in Montco yesterday are also harassing her? She gets caught doing something bad, and this is her mature, professional retort...err,response?

We weren't going to replicate press releases even though several other websites are, but now maybe we will. Why? Because we have had enough.

Can we all mostly agree that Ms. Paolino is obviously intellegent enough to run a clean election based on issues, but she has chosen of her own volition to pursue tawdry campaign tactics including but not limited to the phoney ballots and questionasble carwash coupons? Ms. Paolino set the tone, with her actions, did she not? Should Ms. Paolino just leave this party now? Can it be said that the only victims of this process are the voters of the 17th Senate District? If this candidate is such a strong independent, female candidate, why all the breast beating and whining? Connie Williams never whined throughout her tenure in State House and Senate, and she got all the crap in the world thrown at her every single time. She didn't piss and moan that the boys were beating her up, she went on her way with grace and dignity, and won every election, didn't she?

Here check this out:

Lisa Paolino Victim of Lance Rogers and Montco GOP Machine Continued Bullying and School Boy Harassment

....Taking my campaign to court is just another example of the campaign of “harassment” Lance Rogers has run against me...shame on Lance for running a totally negative campaign. Both he and his handlers like to use school boy bullying techniques against women. I am a strong Independent female candidate who will stand up for what is honorable....And the bottom line is no candidate was ever endorsed by the Delaware County Republican Party – no endorsement meeting was ever held. Meeting separately, the Radnor Republican Committee unanimously endorsed me.

.....My entire campaign has been about my record of achievement as Radnor Commissioner and about the new look I will bring to Harrisburg as our next State Senator.

....I want to thank my many supporters and volunteers, and now it's on to victory on Tuesday!

Hmmmm, if you follow this pretzel logic, then judges in 2 counties must be school yard bullies too?

In all fairness, since we have mentioned her latest "press release", here is the one issued by the Rogers campaign (having fun yet Daylin?):

JUDGE FINDS PAOLINO GUILTY OF ELECTION FRAUD; ORDERS HER FRAUDULENT SAMPLE BALLOTS CONFISCATED

Paolino's Attempt to Steal Election Dealt Major Blow; Still, Thousands of Fraudulent Ballots Have Already Been Mailed to Homes in 17th District

(Ardmore, PA) – Lance Rogers has won a second court order in as many days against Lisa Paolino for mailing fraudulent "official Republican" ballots yesterday with the clear intent to deceive Republican voters into thinking she is the endorsed Republican candidate for state Senate. An emergency hearing was granted this morning at 11:30am to stop the distribution and dissemination of the fraudulent ballots in Delaware County.

Today's Court order follows on the heals of a similar Judge's order signed in Montgomery County, which resulted in four large trash bags of Paolino's fraudulent Montgomery County ballots being removed from her campaign headquarters at 6:30pm last evening. Today's order will require Paolino to now turn over the fraudulent Delaware County ballots, too.

Paolino's fraud included replacing the actual endorsed Republican candidate, Lance Rogers, with her own name. Additionally, Paolino incorrectly listed on the Haverford version of her fraudulent ballots that Bill Adolph was the endorsed State Representative candidate, when in fact the actual candidate is Haverford Commissioner Steve Demilio.

The judge also threw out Paolino's challenges to the Delaware County Republican Committee's endorsement of Lance Rogers, a point Paolino has raised ad nauseum on the campaign trail with little success....."Ms. Paolino has now been found guilty by two judges and is still under investigation by the State Attorney General's office. Should she be convicted of a third degree felony by the State Attorney General, she would be barred from holding any office and will be removed as a Radnor Commissioner," said Mark Campbell, spokesman for the Rogers campaign. "It's unfortunate that Ms. Paolino had to engage in election fraud to win an election. In light of these two Court orders, it is very difficult to see how any voter could ever view Ms. Paolino as someone with the honesty and integrity needed to hold public office."

Montco GOP takes candidate to court

Trouble in the Lisa Paolino camp.

With just days to go until Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary, the Montgomery County Republican Party has won a temporary restraining order preventing Paulino from distributing campaign material the party says contains fraudulent claims.

"It's unfortunate that this candidate (Paolino) has stooped to this level to deceive the voters," Montgomery County Republican Committee Executive Director Athan Koutsiouroumbas told reporter Margaret Gibbons.

A full hearing will be held Monday.

This is not the kind of news a campaign needs on the eve of an election. The controversy centers on a sample ballot that the Paolino campaign mailed out. The ballot appears to mislead voters into believing that Paolino has the endorsement of the Montgomery County Republican Party, when in fact, the party has endorsed another candidate....Paolino's campaign is also facing an investigation by the Pennsylvania Attorney General for previously reported illegal campaign activities.

Many thanks to GrassRootsPA,PA Watercooler, HaverfordBlog, and Tony P for their continued coverage of our local soap opera.

Honestly, to call fake ballots "little pieces of paper"? How can she not get what she has done? Done to the whole election process? Will campaign volunteers for Daylin Leach and Lance Rogers now be bothered at polls by her volunteers? Will they all be able to volunteer in peace, or will there be more of this high school drama?

Say one last question? That Bill Adolph? Is that one of someone's endorsements? Interesting.

Paolino's Sample Ballots Forbidden By Judge
By: Bradley Vasoli, The Bulletin
04/21/2008

From Sunday:
It's official - Delco's President Judge also said "no" to the ballots. Hopefully, no means no and we won't see them crop up in polling places throughout Montco as well as Delco areas of Haverford Township and Radnor. And if a voter sees such a ballot, whom do they call? If anyone out there knows that, please register and post any relevent phone numbers. Also interesting is the fact that someone new represented Lisa this time.

Judge rules in Rogers’ favor in 17th Senate race
Republican candidate gets injunction prohibiting opponent from distributing sample ballots.
By Kathleen Carey

MEDIA — Delaware County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Joseph P. Cronin Jr. granted the Republican candidate for the 17th District Lance Rogers a preliminary injunction prohibiting his contender Lisa Paolino from distributing sample ballots.

Cronin made his decision Saturday after a two-hour, 12-minute hearing into the issue that will impact Paolino’s ability to hand out ballots on the primary election Tuesday.

“The question will come down to the fact whether he’s the endorsed candidate or not,” Cronin said of Rogers.

Rogers, the endorsed Republican candidate, was seeking both a preliminary and mandatory injunction barring Paolino, also a Republican, from distributing ballots and Cronin solely ruled on the preliminary matter, which, in effect, stunted her from distributing sample ballots to voters entering the polls. He said the mandatory ruling would have to be decided at a later unscheduled date.

At issue was the similarity in the green ballot that Paolino was distributing and the white and blue ballot circulated by the Delaware County Republican Finance Committee.

After the judge made his ruling, Guy Paolino, who was representing Lisa Paolino, said, “We respect what the court says.”

Rogers’ attorney, Robert Kerns, said, “Overall, both in Montgomery County and here, it was an attempt to deceive the voters and to turn attention from the endorsed candidate.”

Rogers said he was disheartened by Lisa Paolino.

“That is the ultimate form of deception,” he said. “We want a level playing field. We just want a fair election.”

Wait, so Lisa Paolino is being represented in court by a relative? What's up with that?

If she is elected, does that mean she will start giving jobs to family members? Wouldn't that be unethical?

SaveArdmoreCoalition's picture

Ok, let's leave the family out of it. Families have a very tough go of it in elections on any level.

The truth of the matter is everyone has the right to legal representation, and maybe having family do it is a little too close to the bone, but perfectly o.k. In a case like this, it makes perfect sense to go to your support system, right? Besides, undoubtedly the brother is an experienced Delaware County attorney, and that again, would make perfect sense to utilize his services wouldn't it?

The question you might want to ask is why that Mimi Auchincloss, the head of the Radnor Republicans would represent her in Montgomery County Court, but not Delaware County Court? Radnor is part of Delaware County, so can it be construed that Ms. Aucihincloss didn't want to alienate the entire county and wanted to save what is left of her own political hide?

Okay, sounds fair to me.

Yes, that is a good point.

I think we need to create a flow chart of politics for this election, of who is endorsing who, and who is representing who. It would make understanding some of these relationships so much easier.
