Dear Friends, supporters, and fellow members:

Today, May 1st, 2008 marks another feather in SAC's cap! Our group this afternoon at a grand luncheon in the Bellevue, was the recipient of a very prestigious award.

SAC, as a group, was today named a 2008 recipient of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia's Community Action Award for our ongoing work in our beloved community. We are deeply honored for this award and recognition of our efforts. Not bad, eh?

SAC would also like to thank the developer chosen for Ardmore's redevelopment, Carl Dranoff, for his generosity and kindness. Mr. Dranoff, who was a "2008 Marble Sponsor", took out a page in the program book to honor the Save Ardmore Coalition on their special day. He also arranged for some of our executive board to be seated with him at his table, giving us a chance to get to know each other.

Thank you again to The Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia for recognizing not only our hard work, but our place in the community. We are so very appreciative, and we hope this further inspires neighborhood groups, because indeed, we can make a difference!

Please enjoy a little video on YouTube of Scott Mahan and Sharon Eckstein accepting the award for all of us!

Also enjoy a small batch of photos of our afternoon in Philadelphia....tell Mayor Nutter we look forward to meeting him next time, but were psyched to be in the same room with him!
