What we are talking about is the very curious appointment of Jane Dellheim to a Montgomery County Board? We heard about it mentioned on either PAWatercooler or Writemarsh or both (and Writemarsh is exceptionally amusing today, so check it out!)
But anyway, apparently Bruce Castor is dissing Jane....our very own Jane...we won't comment further, except to say she is hardly as active in Ardmore as Commissioners Gelber and Phillips, who are always available to their constituents and others with a need to speak with them. We will also note that she barely retained her seat last time when she was challenged by Josh Quinter. (and that is the truth)
Main Line Life has an interesting story in the print edition on page 28 - it is by Margaret Gibbons (if anyone can find this Times Herald article online post it please?)

Montco board infighting continues
Choosing a panel to attract businesses to the county has been a lightning rod.

Fights over economic development in Montgomery County continued Thursday when a divided Board of Commissioners appointed 10 more members to a task force studying ways to attract business to the area.
Republican Commissioner Bruce Castor, who opposes the panel, said he was unhappy the additional names included Jane Dellheim, a Democrat who has worked on several campaigns and is now a Lower Merion Township commissioner.
''Dellheim is the poster child for the partisan Democrat in Montgomery County,'' Castor told his colleagues. ''Not that that's bad, but I'd like to know what other ones you have on here that might have similar views.''...Last month, he said he was unfamiliar with the names of most members. The names on Thursday came with resumes.
Dellheim has been a Lower Merion commissioner since 2001. She was the campaign manager for Democrat Lynn Yeakel's 2000 challenge of Republican U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter and worked on Hoeffel's 1998 congressional campaign.
Hoeffel said she represents a community in the county that should have a say in economic development.
''Jane Dellheim is in her second term as Lower Merion commissioner,'' he said. ''That is why she is on this board.''

Castor, Matthews Trade Barbs Over Economic Task Force Selections
By: Bradley Vasoli, The Bulletin

Norristown - Montgomery County's Board of Commissioners Thursday made 10 appointments to their Strategic Economic Development Policy task force, a subject of much contention.
Commissioner Bruce Castor (R), Montgomery's former district attorney, deems a task force to study revitalization extraneous and characterized it as an attempt to spearhead expensive Democratic Party-favored policies on revitalization. He cited as evidence of partisanship the appointment of Jane Dellheim, a Lower Merion Township commissioner who has worked on various Democratic electoral campaigns, including Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Hoeffel's 1998 congressional run.
Commissioners chairman James Matthews (R) reproved Mr. Castor's mention of Mrs. Dellheim's political connections.
"God forbid that we would have [party] representation," he said. He noted that the Lower Merion commissioner represents Ardmore, an area in Lower Merion that has undertaken strenuous recent efforts to obtain revitalization funding and therefore could provide valuable input.
