Ya know, this is so common sense you know it would never, ever happen in Lower Merion....kind of like those evil speed humps that were outlawed, but we digress...

Tredyffrin board changes zoning in downtown Paoli
By Dan Kristie
In an attempt to assure Paoli residents that new development in downtown Paoli will not drastically change the character of their neighborhoods, the board of supervisors amended the township's zoning so that certain urban structures cannot be built along the edges of Paoli's residentially zoned neighborhoods. In a unanimous vote last week, supervisors enacted regulations prohibiting buildings taller than three stories from being built within 100 feet of Paoli's residentially zoned areas.
The regulations also prohibit stand-alone parking garages and parking lots from being constructed on parcels adjacent to residentially zoned areas. Parking garages, however, can be incorporated into new buildings along these areas, provided the garages are in the basement or on the first floor of the new buildings.
