Let's find out who is behind this crime spree. I will remove each and every sign faster than they can be erected. Will you please do the same.

Are those "Ardmore Dating" signs back again? They were around last year and there was also a Bryn Mawr version.

Well, Lower Merion Township is working on a sign ordinance of sorts, but all it seemed to do other than sound contradictory was restrict First Amendment Rights on private property. One would have hoped that the sign ordinance would have addressed the issues of signs like you reference. Signs that generally crop up in public right of ways on random commercial properties, and not necesarilly having anything to do at all with whatever business property they are placed on.

Where are you seeing these signs now? Is there a website attached to them this time?

Yes there is a web site, but I won't contribute to the cause of that organization by posing it. There were four signs between Ardmore and Gladwyne, but they're gone now.

"Lawn signs are freedom of speech for those with little to say." Anyone with a cause may champion that cause in an active way without putting blight on their nighborhood.
Putting a sign on one's lawn is the lazy way out. Lawn signs are more about showing others what you are akin to and they have little or no actual influence. Just litter.

Here is a photo.

stuff from may 24 ardmore pa 007

The website goes nowhere unless you sign up and since the site doesn't appear secure, who will use it anyway? It seems to be set up through godaddy.com :

GoDaddy.com reps say that complaints can be sent to but they can't really get this website to stop putting up lawn spam, that people shoudl complain to their local municipality. Also, another address at GoDaddy?

The thing about these signs represent trespassing of sorts - it isn't a couple months before an election either....it is also highly unlikely that say Kimco Realty for example is saying "sure put them up all over our Suburban Square property". That is where the photo is from: the lawn on the Montgomery Avenue side of the Ruby's lot.

Godaddy is just the Registrar. Complaining to them would be a waste of everyone's time, so please don't.

The trick here is to follow the money. This company from Panama clearly is not posting the signs themselves, but is hiring someone else to do it. We need to figure out who this "someone else" is, and deal with them.

A quick look at that site shows no contact info for the site owners (which is a red flag in and of itself). If someone wants to "sign up" with a throwaway email address, maybe more can be learned about this outfit, and who's really behind it.

Snaps to Doug for finding something that kinda solves the mystery of "who posts these signs?"
