Here are meeting notes:
Dear SAC members,
The June 20th SAC meeting was the first of what will become, once again, a regular monthly meeting. SAC is starting to meet more often to allow membership to more actively engage in the ongoing issues of development, zoning and planning that continue to face our township. Regular meetings will set agendas, action points, and activate our community to deal with these issues.
On the table at this meeting, were 6 points of focus for SAC in the next few months. We are organizing committees around these issues and events will be planned to focus our actions in the near future.
The issues that are currently important are:
1. Suburban Square development proposal ( our opposition to Suburban Square's proposal to develop the Ruby's lot);
2. Ardmore development plans ( making the development of the Bernicker lot become a part of Dranoff's plan, engagement with others to continue to shape the Dranoff plan, etc.)
3. MUST in Ardmore ( refocusing community attention on MUST and its flaws and urging the Commissioners to revisit this zoning overlay and revise it)
4. SAC’s anti-graffiti campaign ( joint effort with Ardmore Clean Up Group)
5. SAC’s Ardmore flower bed
6. Bryn Mawr development and TRID
A flyer touching on these issues will be generated for distribution in the next few weeks - these issues will be discussed at the next meeting.
It was agreed that members should reach out to other community activist groups. These groups are our civic associations, and any local groups that we may have contact with in our area.
Volunteers for the graffiti committee and the flower bed committee are needed. The flower bed/garden area will involve planting and caretaking of the planted area which will be a small plot located in the Ardmore town center.
We are looking forward to seeing old faces, new faces, and new groups as we build together.
Sincerely,
The SAC board
Comments welcome at - and we welcome as always input from other local civic action groups along the Main Line as we ultimately share many common goals.
