Report Out – that certain actions were taken at special Board of Commissioners meeting held Wednesday, July 9, 2008 which resulted in the scheduling of the following public hearing to be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 on an ordinance amendment to amend the Code of the Township of Lower Merion, Chapter A180, Zoning, Historic Resource Inventory, to add/remove certain properties to/from the Historic Resource Inventory.

Public Hearings

An ordinance amendment to amend the Code of the Township of Lower Merion, Chapter 155, Zoning, to provide that an accessory apartment as an incentive use for Class I and Class II resources in the Historic Resource Overlay District, can be the only other single family dwelling unit on a property and must have two off-street parking spaces.

An ordinance amendment to amend the Code of the Township of Lower Merion, Chapter 155, Zoning, to amend the Code of the Township of Lower Merion, Chapter 133, Streets and Sidewalks, to define a “Temporary Sign” and to increase the period of time a temporary sign may remain in the public right of way; to permit temporary signs within a public right of way to be placed within twelve inches of the curbline; and to amend Chapter 155, Zoning, Article XIX, Signs, to define a “Temporary Sign” and “Personal Interest Sign”; to remove the definitions of “Artisan Sign” and “Political Sign”; to remove time restrictions with respect to the display of certain temporary signs; to exempt certain temporary signs from requiring a permit fee where they remain erected for a period of less than forty-five days and are less than six square feet in area; and to allow temporary signs in residence districts.

AN ORDINANCE To Amend The Code Of The Township Of Lower Merion, Chapter 32, Pensions And Employee Benefits, To Provide For The Continuation Of The Police Pension Fund Of The Township Of Lower Merion Originally Effective As Of February 20, 1957, As Amended From Time To Time; To Provide That The Plan Describing The Fund Shall Be Maintained In The Office Of The Township Manager And Shall Be Available For Inspection; To Provide That The Fund Shall Be Managed And Administered By A Five Person Board Of Trustees; To Provide For The Appointment Of The Board Of Trustees; To Provide For The Appointment Of The Township Manager As The Plan Administrator; And To Provide That The Plan Administrator Shall Keep The Minutes Of The Board Of Trustees.

AN ORDINANCE To Amend The Code Of The Township Of Lower Merion, Chapter 111, Peace And Good Order, Article VII, Graffiti, Shall Be Amended To Provide A Statement Of Purpose For The Regulation Of The Sale Of Spray Paint And Indelible Markers; Requiring The Posting Of Signs On Spray Paint And Indelible Marker Displays; Requiring The Posting Of Signs That It Is A Violation Of Law To Sell Spray Paint And Indelible Markers To Minors; And Requiring The Prompt Removal Of Graffiti By Property Owners.
