my god! check out 18:32 - john 'tinfoil' nagle, president of the board of commissioners, is showing up and advocating positions at a planning commission meeting!??!!?

this is beyond reproach. nagle is on the b.o.c. - he has no right (or precedent) to be showing up at planning commission meetings and trying to stack the deck as to what recommendations will eventually make their way to the board of commissioners. if thats going to be the practice, then why the hell even have a citizen advisory committee, like the planning commission?!

just when i think i cant get more infuriated and disgusted by nagle, he goes and tops himself.

Wow, Nagle really is out of control...he looks bit like the guitarist in AC/DC pogoing up and down to the mike in those shorts of his, except that Angus Young always classed up the look with a joie de vivre and coat and tie (Nagle, sadly, is lacking in both).

For more years than I'd like to reflect on I've been attending Radnor's meetings. But Tuesdays' meeting, with BOCs' President, John Nagle, present was a first. It was patently obvious that he had an agenda and therefore, imho, too much influence on the discussion and decision of the Planning Commission.

Please notice how the Planning Commission ignored DELCO's recommendation, that Radnor seriously consider a new ordinance, Open Space, to protect the current parks. The proposed PLU ordinance creates vulnerability for all our parks - potentially they are now vulnerable to building of new libraries, post offices, township buildings, school parking etc. For now, only the subject of cell towers has been tabled.

SHAME!

frozintime ~ I have either watched, attended or televised Planning and Commissioner meetings for many years and I can say unequivocally that the President of the Board of Commissioners has never publicly lorded over a Planning Commission like "King Nagel", so coined by a commission member, did at this meeting.

It is exceedingly rare for a Commissioner even to attend a Planning Commission, when they do they generally stand in the back in support of their constituents. It is rarer still for Commissioner to go to the microphone and address the planning commission. I can only recall that happening two or three times in 15 years.

Nagel actions are a first; a new low. He caused the committee with his advocacy to change directions twice in their deliberations.

The Commissioners are judges, not advocates before a deliberative body such as the Planning Commission.

"King Nagel" used his influence as President of the Board of Commissioners to put his thumb on the scale, delegitimizing the Planning Commission's input in the process.

It's not at all surprising that it was a lone Democrat that voted against Democrat "King Nagel's" rewrite of the PLU Zoning. Radnor Republicans, with the strong exceptions of Sarah Armstrong, Patti Booker and Susan Michaelson, are so out of it that they don't seem to know if they are coming or going anymore...
