Does SEPTA actually monitor their parking space usage? Who knows? Maybe they are, but SEPTA really needs to be more open about this sort of thing.

Then again, these are the same people that don't air condition Ardmore station. It's been a greenhouse the last couple of mornings. At 8:30 in the morning. I hate to think what it's like at noon.

Anyway, sorry for going off topic there, and...

Front paged!

not knowing anything about the Wayne station parking lot, a couple questions occur to me. Are the permits sold out and people are not using the spots, or is it the case that there are more permit spaces than there is a demand for? This is something you should be able to find out-usually the ticket agent has extra permits for sale if they are not sold out. At the stations I commute from, permit spaces are always sold out, so this video is somewhat surprising. Summer can be an emptier time in train station parking lots as people go on vacation or choose to walk for exercise (but don't want to lose their parking permits so they may stil buy them monthly. Is the permit lot as empty in the fall?

Please note that underneath the main parking lot there is now a stormwater retention/recycle basin that will hopefully help alleviate some of the flooding around PA Ave and Plant Ave right there. I worked with a very nice SEPTA engineer to get it when I saw a giant drainage pipe pointing at a residential street a few moons ago. Radnor Township didn't do much in that regard so I don't want the Great Grape Dan Malloy Lobsta Boy taking credit, even if it is his over compensated job to do things like this.

Nothing, however, will help with those AWFUL platform lights that turn Pennsylvania Ave into day at night. Those lights are horrible.

(I notice someone voted me 1 star on this? Hey to each their own but what is not true? I have the trail of correspondence to back this all up and the lights at night speak for themselves. And above all else Great Grape Lobsta Boy doesn't seem to really go out of his way to do things the right way, does he?)

Agreed! I am STUNNED that the neighbors have not raised a ruckus over them, no way are they up to code. Still, silence = consent...

Very true. It's pretty well known those people hate the lights, yet I can't say I have seen any of them exercising their public privilege at meetings. And as you can see from the post I put up about Bryn Mawr, lights are very intrusive at times - and over near Bryn Mawr Hospital neighbors have complained, but some are tired of complaining and are just going to move.

Very likely that the Americans With Disabilities Act requires a certain, specific, and measurable amount of luminosity per square/cubic foot of platform and surrounding space. Watch for men in dark suits with light meters.

What is most incredible is that some $20 million were burnt up renovating a suburban train station.

Possibly, but I think that the amount of undirected and unneeded light spilling from the site could have been cut by 75% without impacting areas where it's need for ADA or safety. It's a design issue.
