Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Democrats Joe Hoeffel versus Josh Shapiro should be interesting. State Rep. Shapiro has a $1.000.000 in the bank and Gov. Rendell's backing. If Rep. Shapiro runs, it will open the 153d in Abington where the Republicans have an excellent candidate, Tom Bogar, who will run in a special election. The clueless Larry Kane references only Republican Marie "I will do and say whatever Bruce instructs" Cavanaugh. In fact. the highly qualified Lower Merion Republican Township Commissioner Jenny Brown, the Forgotten Taxpayer's Friend, will be seeking the Republican committee endorsement on Feb. 9th. Lower Merion's Jill Govberg's whose qualifications to manage a $404 BILLION dollar county budget are thin is seeking the endorsement also. A fourth candidate Nick Salamone of Plymouth has announced. Uber phony Jim Matthews, despised by all activists in both parties, has said he would run as an Independent. Ms. Govberg has said she would run in a primary if she does not get the endorsement indicating that she thinks she won't get it. We shall see

I expect the Times Herald will reference Breakfastgate repeatedly reminding voters of this transgression. Breakfastgate is a reliable reporter, Jenny DeHuff, versus a politician. Whom do you believe. |

Yes $404 MILLION. Sorry typo. The State Budget is $66 BILLION total. I sometimes get punchy looking at these staggering numbers.
I went to the Larry Kane article following Bob's link. I liked this:

What is the point you are making? I don't understand. My point that Larry Kane's CBS Local report misinformed by leaving out salient information.
No point. The notion that those were somehow "related" topics struck me as funny.
Is Lower Merion's Jill Govberg of the same family that peddles jewelry and wristwatches?
I believe so, but I can't say for a fact. Not my social circle.
What I can say for a fact is that she lists her profession as a "homemaker" on recent campaign contribution reports.
Nothing wrong with being a homemaker at all, but what exactly are her qualifications to be a county commissioner?
Sure, she was on the school board, but look how unqualified the current sitting school board members are to be school board members.
Edit: Here Is Her Resume. Looks like she married in to the jewelry business. So what exactly did she do for them?

Brotherhood of Thieves ~ As we must account for every idle word, so must we account for every idle silence.
So she married into money and lives in a $2 million house.
Sounds about right for the school board in Lower Merion, but I can't see her having a clue when it comes to the common folk of Montgomery County.
Jill Govberg married Danny Govberg of Govberg Jewelers.
In my view, her qualifications to supervise a $404 million dollar budget and navigate through the treacherous political currents is limited. I am supporting Jenny Brown, whose qualifications should be well known to all who read or post this website.

Isn’t that a $404 MILLION dollar county budget - not Billion.
