O.K. when I heard this I had these visions of Liz Rogan and Elaine Paul Schaefer with the funniest damn voice overs - for example: " meet Liz Rogan. She's a professional planner by day and a tough female politician by night. She ummmm is a not so real Housewife of the Main Line" DSC_0028 Seriously, this stuff cracks me up - given that the Main Line replete with so many narcissisitc wannabes, this may be quite the casting call. Think about it - picture cell phone mommy dropping off son at The Haverford School followed by cameras.... Devon Horse show...followed by cameras. Dinner at White Dog, taking up all the parking in the little side streets....followed by cameras.... The Bryn Mawr Farmers Market on Saturday....followed by cameras. Doting on Bruce Reed's every move....followed by cameras.... Oh the possibilities....wonder which township will court them LOL? See:

* Housewives of Main Line Casting Call* Personify Productions is currently casting housewives that live in the Main Line (Gladwyne, Bryn Mawr, Wayne, Devon etc.) for a potential Television Pilot .

Will consider Philadelphia residents if personality is dynamite and you run in the same social circles as the Main Line. We are seeking women who are extremely charismatic, outgoing, candid and self-confident with strong fashion sense and style. Married, Divorced Re-Married and Single women are all invited to apply.

All family types will be considered but most importantly we are looking for dynamic Main Line women with defined opinions and views and who are plugged in to the storied social scene of the legendary Main Line. Personality is paramount as we are looking for lively and energetic women who are "Housewives" in the present-day sense, leading busy lives with a strong work ethic but still enjoying the "good life."

Blue Bloods, Nouveau Riche and Career women are invited to apply. Groups of women who are already friends in the same social circle are also encouraged to apply. The women, their significant others and families must be open to sharing their experiences with the producers and the television audience. If you are interested in being considered please email your name, information about yourself and your family, current photo and a phone number where you can be reached to: Personify Productions, LLC guarantees and warrants that all requested information will be held in the strictest confidence.

I can already tell I will not like anybody who ends up on this show, and I'd suggest it will tarnish the image of any woman who is on the show, but then there are always people ready to make fools of themselves for some supposed "fame".

However, if the producers are smart, they will have the “housewives” visit local venues like MilkBoy Coffee in order to promote local business and at least provide some sort of positive spin to what is just a boring look into the boring lives of people with too much money and too much time on their hands.

I will say if this show makes the air, it might make for some interesting blog fodder.

How about the producers consider this show: “Real People Of The Main Line Who Can’t Stand Main Line House Fraus Who Text While Moving In Their Giant SUVs They Can’t Drive Anyway”.

However, if one “housewife” wears a MilkBoy t-shirt, the show gets my full support and no negative blogging.

Well, I contacted the producer of this prospective venture and got back a lovely response- I told him, no I had no desire as a housewife but as a blogger I found it to be a potential fun topic to write about.

This show would be money in the bank for communities where it filmed if chosen - it would mean publicity for many wonderful things around here - say for example, what if they filmed at a First Friday Main Line, Clover Market, Bryn Mawr Farmers' Market, Harriton Fair or Gladwyne Memorial Day Parade - that is money in the bank people. And let's face it it is not like our local governments are thinking outside the box in this economy

This Daniel guy just finished a reality tv pilot in December that is currently being shopped to several interested cable networks. It is called Medium Mom. You can view it on the link above or here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RX_Ho2ajoo Also his documentary "The Anderson Monarchs" just won the Sundance Grant is being edited to premiere on a major broadcaster. It's very cool - check it out http://vimeo.com/17441269

Two suggestions for "housewives" that give me the giggles - Maurice Tannenbaum of OMG in Gladwyne, and the amusement of Bryn Mawr, Kelly Rowell from the Philly Post....

Could there be a "Real Housewives of the Main Line?"

A local company is quietly casting Main Line women for a pilot to pitch to Bravo as “The Real Housewives of the Main Line.”

Bravo typically chooses the cities featured on the popular reality series, such as New York, Atlanta and Miami, and then hires producers and also gets involved with casting. A Bravo spokeswoman did not return a request for comment about this unsolicited project.

Personify Productions is “Seeking women who are extremely charismatic, outgoing, candid and self-confident with strong fashion sense and style,” according to an e-mail being passed around by Main Line socialites....Contacted this afternoon, Kalai declined comment about his reality project.

Gee...where on earth do you think he read about this? LOL

So...NBC10 has also picked up on the Main Line Housewives chatter - and oh yes - they credit the Philadelphia Daily News. Ya know, it really is OK for mainstream media to admit it they saw something first on a blog.

I don't know any of the web content people at NBC10, but they should have checked to see where the Daily News got this from - the impetus, etc.

C'est la vie

Could it be? A “Real Housewives of the Main Line?”

Maybe.

According to Dan Gross of the Philadelphia Daily News, a local production company is casting women for a pilot they’re planning to pitch to Bravo.

An email circulating between Main Line socialites says that Personify Productions is looking for charismatic, outgoing, fashion-savvy women, reports Gross.

Patch picked it up and they get props for referencing the SAC site - even if technically the Inky got it after reading this post: Inquirer: The Real Housewives of... the Main Line? Maybe, according to recent reports. By Tom Sunnergren

season of the sultry (amongst other adjectives) Bravo reality series "The Real Housewives of..." may soon come to the Main Line, according to a story from The Philadelphia Inquirer and also featured on the The Save Ardmore Coalition blog.

Caroline O'Halloran from Main Line Times also thinks it's a fun idea... Flair "Real Housewives" headed to Main Line? Published: Thursday, March 10, 2011 By Caroline O'Halloran

Why Doesn’t Bravo Want Us?
The cable channel scoffed at recent speculation about a "Real Housewives of the Main Line" series
Posted on 3/16/2011 at 8:58AM
CHRISTINE SPEER

Last week, Main Line socialites were abuzz over what seemed like an inevitable casting call for, yes, a “Real Housewives of the Main Line”. (“Blue bloods, nouveau riche and career women are invited to apply.”) About four seconds later, though, everyone heaved a collective sigh―some out of relief, some of disappointment―when Dan Gross reported that Bravo all but laughed off the possibility of a Philly-based franchise. “We’re involved in casting all over the country for a variety of projects,” they told him. “This is not one of them.” Sure, the local film company responsible for the casting call might pitch Bravo the show, but, the spokesperson reportedly clarified, Philly ought not speculate that Bravo would ever accept such a project.

Well, then.

Yep. So how many days after I broke this first does she write about this? LOL. Man this one should get out of her bubble more...

But the blogger who was interviewed on Fox, did not get this BEFORE me - she was a full day later...as was basically the gossip columnist referred to. And I hear there is some serious lobbying and I am not telling the who of it all. I hear the production company has easily had over 200 applications and they are still coming in - for the other blogger see:

The Real Housewives of the Main Line Casting Call Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 9:37AM

My favorite part of the post is the mommy busy writing in from Bryn Mawr. Her comment is to follow - wonder if she has the social capital to weight the mighty neurotic bat she is weilding? (Me thinks this housewife doth protesteth too much) My my my it is all in good fun - and this is good for local businesses if this project really pops so in this economy, why would she care? After all she can just stay home if she sees a camera LOL

When I heard about the potential for this show coming to the Main Line, I was sick. This show is a SCOURGE, and I don't want to have to worry about whether there will be CAMERAS ALL OVER THE MAIN LINE. I will (not quietly) boycott any business that lets this show and its entourage through the door. People aren't thinking about the negative publicity this show thrives on, and we DON'T NEED THAT.
