Power outage now in Haverford - I believe it is related to the one Susan reported in Ardmore.

This outage runs at least thru Booth Lane and Lancaster Ave on the western end and thru to Ardmore on the eastern end - TD Bank and Tinderbox and all those places are out. I feel especially bad for the really nice new yogurt shop which opened next to Brueggers Bagels.

I don't know if those apartments on Lancaster Ave in Haverford owned by Korman Suites are affected or not.

This is the circuit which ALWAYS goes out when ARDMORE goes out. I think PECO just doesn't want to fix it properly as a friend of mine from high school said today "the power still goes out near that WaWa in Ardmore? It's been doing that since high school, when is PECO going to fix it?"

I also had a report of power outages elsewhere in Ardmore today - Jhn Henry's Pub about 1:30 this afternoon.

Keep reporting the outages folks!

Commissioners told me that as per Don Cannon a guy from PECO named Greg Carey said an underground something went out and the repair crews should be done by 9:00 p.m. - so it's that now, I hope someone will post an update from that area. Apparently it's an east to west fault (which we kinda already know because we live here)

Wawa is back, other places not so lucky. At 7 am the traffic signals were still out in Haverford and now are on generators in at least one location - Lancaster Ave and Haverford Station Rd. You know, every time there are extremes in weather (heat and rain especially) or sometimes we don't know why, the power dumps off leaving two to three (at least) of the most problematic intersections with traffic signals WITHOUT signals. And let's not forget the human element of people in apartments, houses, and small businesses who are affected by these outages.

Brueggers Bagels and the new yogurt parlor called Kiwi are but two examples of still withut power. Kiwi is a BRAND NEW SMALL BUSINESS and their business is cold sweets so can you IMAGINE their losses right now? They have not even been open a month I think. We want businesses like that to stay, not fold up their tent and disappear in a cloud of losses.

When will PECO finally address this underground fault which always seems to straddle Haverford and Ardmore? The most recent one or part of one dealt with was on Lancaster Ave closer to the Haverford School. But there is this east-west thing so why not just fix it????

Also, TD Bank which is always affected no matter which part of these faults or whatever go out said they had to service customers OUTSIDE in the HEAT yesterday. I think that is awful. I don't know if the Korman building formerly known at Whitehall next to Wells Fargo on Lancaster Ave has power or not - couldn't tell but I can tell you last time they were affected by an outage it was days out.

We pay a LOT for power around here I think our infrastructure should be a little more reflective of that. The township responded well to this and you could see them out and about checking on the busiensses, etc.

All power should be pretty much restored now.  I spke with someone at PECO today at length and it was the Ardmore 17 circuit which failed.  It has been bumped up to their people - engineers I guess - for review, so maybe they will consider replacing it.....we can hope....
