I hung out on Montgomery Ave, hoping to ask PECO employees about what caused the blackout and what the ETA was. Unfortunately, I didn't get the opportunity to speak to any employees, as they kept driving around, presumably checking different pieces of equipment. I observed one employee using a long pole to disconnect 3 relays at the northwest corner of Montgomery and Woodside ave. He then drove west about a block, and restred power to that section. He then drove east to Anderson Ave, and power was restored to the 0th(??) block of West Mongomery about 10 minutes later. I waited a little longer at Woodside Ave to see if he would come and reconnect the relays, but I got cold and decided to go back inside my home. I still have no idea what is causing these persistent outages, or why only these two blocks are affected. |

One would hope the Township Administration would make some inquiries and report to us.
I have zero faith in Steve Lindner's ability to represent us at this point.
(Unless a blackout happens on his street...)
Sorry to hear this, Doug.
What's up with this always happening in Ardmore? what's up with PECO on this issue? Has Lindner been taking the bull by the horns?
I rarely get blackouts on the western end of the township.

Brotherhood of Thieves ~ As we must account for every idle word, so must we account for every idle silence.
I got some details sent to me privately.
Last night's outage was caused by an underground equipment problem. 500 people were affected and repairs were made. Beyond that, I have no further info.
Another major blackout tonight (Monday, February 6, 2012) from 6:14 to 8:44, more or less. A long stretch of Montgomery Avenue, lots of North Ardmore, and a huge slice of Wynnewood, all along Kent Road, Hathaway Lane.
Must have something to do with this terrible weather we had this evening.

Somehow I missed out on this blackout.

Here, in Lower Merion, we like our services and are willing to pay for them. It might be good if BOC paid some attention to representing us to vaious governmental agencies instead of grandiose monuments to their fiscal profligacy.
Bonnie Cook has a statement from PECO up about Ardmore's fairly frequent power outages. Last night's was caused by "an issue" with an underground power cable on Montgomery Avenue.

One would hope the Township Administration would make some inquiries and report to us.
but they are, probably, too busy with their visions of EXPANDED Libraries with fewer books and delayed completion date
and visions of rezoning City Ave to be bothered with core services we need daily.
