(NOTE: I saw a Shapiro-Richards attack ad this morning. It was so obvious and attacked Jenny Brown in such a fashion, that suddenly I knew what the Shapiro-Richards team was going to be for Halloween! I also have to ask if former Commissioner Bruce Reed scripted it ? Why have one Pinnochio running when you can have TWO? They can be like the double-mint twins of politics as usual!!!)

Yesterday in a debate on the radio, they attacked Jenny's husband.  Now the thing is this, they try to portray themselves as different and above it all ---they are trying to portray themselves as the ones who will stop the bickering...yet all I see is they are the only ones who have been nasty have been those two!

At least Jenny appears to have (I am sure others can confirm) a solid marriage.

Democrats in this county should keep their mouths shut about spouses.

By recent count, I have a Democrat LM commissioner who just stepped down who cheated on his spouse, a member of the MCDC who has had multiple affairs (and that's just the tip of the iceberg on that horrific situation whre motions have been filed in court to document) and is going through a divorce, as well as two other cheating Dems I have been made aware of but have not confirmed (one a LM School Board candidate).

While I am sure it happens, I am not aware single R party operative/candidate in LM or Montco who is married and where infidelity is alleged.

Generally I would not make this an issue, but if Shapiro-Richards are going to go after the spouses of opponents, perhaps they should look in the mirror at heir own party?

If Shapiro-Richards want to keep this up, I'll get in to the extremely ugly details I know about people in Democratic leadership in Montco/LM where I have documented facts (without naming names to protect the kids - but that will really make people wonder which party operative/candidate it is).

I seem to have hit a nerve (and I know certain D's are watching this blog on this issue. I don't want to post about it, so don't give me a reason).

If either side wants to play this game, I will just post sworn divorce documents with names redacted to protect the kids, but it will not be pretty.

I don't want to do it, but if certain politicians want to make this about spouses, I'll make it about cheating politicians and air their dirty laundry and let others figure out who it is.

I even have a local Republican party official who sought to commit tax fraud by not declaring taxes for a local Democrat operative who was an employee (tax evasion by the D operative) that will soon be filed in a divorce proceeding as public record.

My message to all bozos running for office is: let's leave spouses out it unless it is truly relevant so we don't have to go there.

I made the above post because Shapiro-Richards seem to have started the spouse thing (unless someone can name a Republican candidate who started this) and if any candidates from either party keep it up (unless it is truly relevant) I have a lot of dirt on operatives from both parties. The divorce filings are rather amazing - and disgusting.

Let's keep it clean.

I think I'm being more than fair by not immediately posting it.

I think fidelity to a marriage, where you give your word of honor, is as important as fidelity to your constituents and the Constitution, and I think any infidelity to your solemn word in a marriage goes to your character and potential fidelity to your oath of office and constituents.

I think not paying your taxes on purpose with malice and aforethought is a disqualification for office and/or running a campaign.

I think I am being extremely fair by not getting into this at this time - and if I did it would be based on sworn court documents I am aware of and/or have in my possession, not hearsay or innuendo.

If criminal charges are pressed on a variety of issues I am aware of, I won't have to get into it because the press will be all over it.

So, you're saying that someone exposed something  about Jenny Brown's marriage and as revenge you're going to get back at  that person by exposing something compromising about that person's marriage? Is that what you're saying?

Your funny.

I'm not defending jenny and I have no idea what was said about her husband.

I'm just saying if politicos from either side of the isle want to bring spouses into it at all (unless it is extremely relevant), then I will call them on their infidelities and criminal acts that are now being played out in court.

Let's stick to the issues and not bring spouses into campaigns, and if I have to use threats of exposing corrupt politicos, then so be it.

The only thing our local politicians ever respond to is threats of being exposed for bad behavior.

I'm just trying to keep the bozos in line - and regardless of party.

Tax evasion and a murder plot against a spouse (I know, sounds far-fetched, but the written words are there by the paramours) by a higher level party member on the county level who is directly involved in campaigns is just as relevant (if not more so) than attacks against spouses.

This is not "personal" information. When you choose to fight a divorce, you make it part of the public record. When the judge tells the spouse who revealed the discussion of murder in court with written transcripts of the discussion to commit murder that were legally downloaded from a home computer, and the judge in open court tells that spouse on the record to immediately go to the Montco detective homicide unit and tell them she sent the spuse over there, that is no longer "personal" information as it is is part of a public court record.

How dare you accuse me of releasing "personal" information. If you re-read my posts, you will note I only stated I may post public, court records of their operatives who support them and work to get them elected if bozo political candidates don't play fair.

I'm just playing by the rules that the LM BOC and others used to go after me when I exposed them for their past corruption.

Re-reading your posts above, as you advised, shows that this latest one is the first time you mention "murder." So at least now you're getting to something interesting and possibly of consequence.

But prior to that you've been threatening to expose "infidelities," which I think most people count as personal. I too have not seen the attacks on Jenny Brown's husband, but if they  had to do with threatening to expose infidelities I would equally condemn them as needlessly hurtful and personal, not to mention dull.

Sorry, but I hold elected officials who swear an oath to a higher standard.

If they can't keep a marriage vow, how do you expect them to uphold their oath of office?

I also previously mentioned tax fraud and tax evasion. You did not seem to have a problem with that.

So, in your view, tax evasion and affairs by politicians and party operatives are OK, but murder plots are not.

Glad we got that straight!

Everyone has different views. I'm aware of plenty people who think that politicians who have had affairs are not fit to serve. If you count yourself among them then you're certainly not alone.

You have papers on public figures who are in court for tax evasion and murder plots? I think you should post them regardless.

I don't want to interfere with an ongoing court proceeding. At this point it is just a divorce proceeding and no criminal charges have been filed, though the Montco detectives are looking into it and the judge took it very seriously by sending the spouse to the Montco detectives.

As a side note, a LMPD detective basically laughed in the face of the spouse when the LMPD detective was approached by the spouse about this.

Montco detectives and Montco judge took this every seriously. LMPD laughs about it and ignores it. Go figure.

We'll see what I decide to do when all proceedings and investigations are completed in regards to posting.

One area that will get attention is how the LMPD handled it - and all commissioners except Cheryl Gelber ignored my emails of concern in regards to addressing this atrocious LMPD behavior.

Now, the spouse did not get the chance to show the LMPD detective the computer downloads of conversations because the laughing had already begun when the allegations were brought up, but that certainly does not make it right.

I suggest anyone with a serious criminal issue that does not require immediate attention due to an imminent threat of deadly force bypass the LMPD and go to the DA and their detectives. They appear to at least take things seriously. The LMPD is already being sued for racism, and they also appear to base whether they investigate something or not on sexist attitudes.

And for further clarification, are court documents about tax evasion (a crime) by those who serve politically worth posting about, or does that fall under the infidelity loophole too?

You don't need clarification from me.  You do what you want.

Without knowing the nature of the tax evasion allegation, I would suggest that if it is part of one of the divorce filings you mention that you should take it with a big grain of salt. Tax allegations between spouses are commonly piled into divorce filings in order to pad them out.

People serving elected office, or running for elected office, charged with tax evasion/fraud? Yes, that would be worth posting about.

Note that none of that stuff is what I initially confronted you on. Your first post (#4) is all about affairs, cheating, and "airing dirty laundry."  Big difference from what you're talking about now, in my book. I understand that you and others may feel that cheating is on par with tax fraud and murder.  I get it. I don't happen to agree.

I mentioned criminal behavior in early posts. You honed in on the infidelity in marriage because you think it is OK. I don't look at it from a religious standpoint myself, but I think it is a relevant character issue in regards to keeping your word.

You are also making assumptions about the tax evasion to justify taking it with a "grain of salt".

What if I said there were lawful computer downloads of discussions on how to evade paying taxes on up to $34,000 in income, and the taxes were never paid and the income was never declared as it was paid under the table in an illicit agreement between the employer and employee - per downloaded conversations from a home computer? What if that all played out in court? Is that OK?

You can take anything you want with a grain of salt as I have not documented with material facts anything I have said, but I do find it interesting you want the murder plot evidence posted, but you take the tax evasion with a "grain of salt".

Hope you don't get audited, Lexo Eye-wink

I don't know why it's "interesting" to you what I think at all.  I'm calling it as I see it. I have no information on the context of the tax evasion charges you're speaking of. You've chosen to focus on my saying that tax charges within the context of a divorce filing are not worthwhile, and you've chosen to ignore my saying that a politician serving elected office scheming to avoid taxes is worth posting. That's your choice. I would say that I find it interesting what you find interesting, but that would be a lie. It's still not interesting.

Re-read your own post #4 and tell me what the "criminal behavior" is you're talking about. Or don't.

Criminal behavior among politicians, office holders and office seekers should always be exposed. No two ways about it. But recognize that that's a completely different conversation than the initial one about exposing "dirty laundry" in [retaliation? response?] for some unnamed person talking about Jenny Brown's husband.  Which is where we started.

How can you miss it. Tax evasion and a murder plot. That's the dirty laundry in addition to the multiple affairs because that all I know in addition to the multiple affairs.

What you think is retaliation is me telling polticos to play fair and not go after spouses (for the type lame reasons that you seem to oppose) or I will expose one of their own operatives for having multiple affairs, plotting murder and committing tax evasion.

You have railed on me for threatening to expose a Democrat politico for multiple affairs, tax evasion and a murder plot, yet you have no problem with your fellow Democrats going after the spouse of a Republican candidate for unknown, but I bet a very lame reason.

I don't want to take sides, but you certainly seem to be.

Everybody who knows me knows I am not that person except when I am dealing with them, and my friends understand because they know exactly what I have been put through.

These bozos, and especially their handlers like High and Cleland, truly enjoy sticking the knife in your back and twisting it.

They are just shocked I have stood up and fought back, and I have learned you can't show these cretins any semblance of weakness, so I don't and I never will.

That's the only way to deal with pure evil.

Lexo - Jenny and Rick Brown are friends of mine. I spend a fair amount of time with them and I can tell you that they have a wonderful and loving relationship and two awesome kids. The problem is they are decent people who aren't democrats. So when you can't say someone running for public office did something really terrible, the next step is to attack the family.

Leslie Richards is turning out to be just another disappointing whining woman trying to run for higher office and she and Josh Shaprio seem to be willing to do anything to slam their opponents. Josh Shapiro is a career politician who only cares about himself and since he worked for Joe Hoeffel has always been on the hunt for HIS next best opportunity. The last time a truly terrific female Democrat was fielded in Montgomery County was Connie Williams. Leslie Richards is not and never will be anything close to Connie Williams.

Time to get this back on track. Lexo, if you want to go vote the Shapiro-Richards ticket, it's your vote. However, you will regret it because they are no better thn Reed-Taylor-Rogan, etc, etc

Here is one little whiny snippet from Leslie Richards

I don't think I have ever seen Rick Brown in any township meting speaking up, so he is not "attacking" commissioners there.

Just how is Richards so sure Rich Brown is "attacking" the BOC majority for "20 hours" a week.

Where is the documentation, and just how is Rick Brown doing it?

I'm sure Rick Brown is helping his wife in her election effort, but it for county commissioner, so why would Rick spend that time "attacking" the LM BOC?

I admit I go after the LM BOC all the time. More so than most everyone. I have not been to a meeting in a while, and my blog posts add up to what - an hour a week where I specifically go after the LM BOC - if that?

Richards makes no sense. Unless she can document how Rick has been "attacking" the LM BOC for 20 hours a week, she is lying and involved a spouse in a lowlife manner.

On the flip side and in fairness to both sides, Richards said Rick said in an interview he spent 20 hours a week attacking the LM BOC.

Can anyone document this, did it happen or is it a lie by Richards, and/or was it taken out of context?

If untrue, it says a lot about Richards dishonesty and lack of character. If true, it is just a spouse exercising his constitutional right to petition the government and said right should never be demeaned.

Desperate Despicable Democrats ShapiroRichards Resort to Name Calling – Attack Candidate’s Spouse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRYs3K_ZP7Y

Bruce Castor's succinct was excellent and dead on: The Big Government Liberal ShapiroRichards have, disingenuously, appropriated the common sense Tea Party/Republican principles of Zero Based Budget and No New Taxes.

Desperate Democrats ShapiroRichards use rhetoric to pretend to be Republican and/or Tea Party because ShapiroRichards know that if their union financed, big spending, big borrowing and big taxing record were known, the voters, including fiscally common sense Democrats, would reject them.

Fiscally Reckless ShapiroRichards Rhetoric Conflicts with ShapiroRichards Real World Record.

ShapiroRichards Fiscal Policy: Free Money for Unions and Liberal Big Government Bureaucrats: the productive Forgotten Taxpayer pays for their fiscal recklessness.

Jenny Brown answered, as she always does, no matter how the Ds characterize you, in a calm "ladylike" manner.

Does Rick spend 20 hours a week attacking the D commissioner? Shocking and disappointing. It should be 40 We are am offended. We spend twenty hours a week attacking the fiscally reckless and do I get any public recognition? Why does Rick get all the attention? Radical Extremist Tea Party Homophobic Racist Bigots Have Feelings, Too, ...You Know. (Actually, I don't ever recall Rick making any public statements about the Democrats. He is a Republican partisan so one would think he would disagree. How unusual: an R disagrees with a D. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing.)

To find out, see www.saveardmorecoaltion.org web site : $$9 million spent for EXPANDED Ludington with fewer books that only “th e 1%” will use, $900k on Ardmore Lancaster intersection that has so enriched the lives of us all, including the tilting Gateway Fountain and now the ill-conceived Ardmore Transit project that does not include any transit.

Richards says in the YouTube (that you just linked to Bob, but Carla already posted above):

You say that your husband spends 20 hours a week attacking the current commissioners that you deal with. The Democratic commissioners [plural].

Jenny responds:

That’s not what I said.

There is only one Democrat county commissioner, so that indicates to me Richards is saying Rick is “attacking” the LM BOC “20 hours a week”. That’s nonsense unless it can be documented he is doing that, and I doubt it.

Why would Jenny ever say her husband spends 20 hours a week "attacking" Democrats? It makes no sense. Jenny is not that stupid. Richards makes no sense.

However, let’s say Rick is spending 20 hours a week campaigning for his wife for county commissioner.

What’s wrong with that? Richards should not make shrill and hollow protestations, but rather she should give facts where Rick says something she disagrees with, as opposed to using the sweeping term “attacking”. Is Richards upset she does not have a spouse campaigning for her? Is it that shallow?

As Bob alluded, opposing parties go after each other, and they should does so based on the issues.

Unless Richards has specific campaign issues she would like to discuss with Rick, I’d suggest she lay off the shrill comments and rather focus on her platform and how it is supposedly better than that of Jenny.

The only way I can look this is as a low blow and name-calling by Richards. It does say a lot about her.

Carla, I've never typed a single word in promotion of Shapiro-Richards on this blog, nor in defense of attacking someone personally.  (I have questioned Bob G's logic about keeping the county in Republican hands, but I believe I've questioned that in good faith)  My entire beef is with what Politeia threatens to do , which is to expose a load of dirty laundry of politicians  and "operatives" - both Republican and Democrat from his description - who apparently have no connection to the attacking Rick Brown incident. If I'm mistaken about that I hope Politeia will clarify that for me.

Politeia's been very selective about how he portrays what I've typed. I look down on any kind of expose on the marriage of the Shapiros or the Browns, or any kind of attacks on spouses. I would be against posting up details of affairs of private individuals. I would be in favor of revealing any murder and tax fraud charges against any office holder or office seeker, or public figure Republican or Democrat or otherwise. Those all seem like reasonable rules to me, and I've never seen anyone here on SAC cross lines like that before.

If Politeia wants to engage in what he has threatened to do, he's free to of course. But if he does it will be sad to see him stoop to engaging in the low game he often rightly decries.

Haven't I already explained it enough?

yes, I agree I am threatening (I have not done it) to stoop to the level of bad politicians to get them to stop their bad behavior.

It's the quickest and easiest way to get them to behave from my experience, and it works.

As for what I have threatened to expose, I think a murder plot and tax evasion by a higher level county party operative is relevant no matter, so one can argue I would be doing a service by exposing this horrific behavior (you yourself say they murder plot should be exposed), but I am trying to be fair and let the trial and hearings play out - but I would not have alluded to it if I had not seen the sworn court documents and supporting evidence referencing all this.

We will just have to agree to disagree. You seem to think name-calling about spouses is bad and I guess your position is the voters will decide on that. My position is I will do what it takes to prevent the name-calling.

Let the name-calling continue, or let's nip it in the bud and talk about the issues.

That to me is where we differ. You don't like my tactics. Live with it. My tactics involve stopping name-calling and focusing on the issues.

I think you would agree that is a worthy goal and we just disagree on how to make it happen. Your position appears to be politics as usual, and mine is to use the same type of political threats I learned from our local politicians that they leveled at me to clean up their act.

Nothing scares them more than having the dirtiest tactics they quietly use against select, targeted citizens against them.

The only difference is I don't lie about and make-up the horrific acts like they do.

I know this is too much heat for many, so just get out of the kitchen.

I am living with it. We do differ on the tactic in question, but I respect your end goals and your motivations.

I also agree about exposing the murder and the tax fraud. I'll look forward to that.

I think we agree enough. Let's move on. Hope you don't get audited either.

Fair dinkum.

While we disagree on some things, Lexo, I respect your strong convictions.

It was Leslie Richards who brought Jenny's spouse into the discussion.

What does she mean by an attack? An attack is Leslie Richards is as animated as a potted plant. that's an attack. I have never heard Rick speak that way. Rick Brown has always been concerned with the fiscal policies of the Democrats.

Joe Hoeffel  2003  good policy then; good policy now.

I thought spouses and children were off limits.

Josh Shapiro is a very solid family guy. I sometimes joke with Matt Bradford that he, or Josh, could be Rick Santorum's love children. They live family values. Josh and Matt and Tim Briggs are super nice guys. Unfortunately espouse big spending policies that such the economic life out of a community. They mean well, though.
