This explains why it is so important to build 3.5 million + square feet of new office space on City Avenue:

The iconic 1616 Walnut Street building - listed on the National Register of Historic Places - has been purchased by Federal Capital Partners of Chevy Chase, Md., which is considering converting the office space to residential use.

Hugh - thanks for posting. The crazy lust for building is something I don't get no matter where it is occuring right now in our area. The City Ave plan is nuts and stands a good chance of seriously damaging forever a good chunk of the eastern end of the township. There is a glut of office space in the region and residential units, but it never seems to be enough.
