I got this note from the township the other day:
Oh, that's right! St. Patty's Day falls on a Saturday this year. I wonder of the LMPD will let me make a cash deposit on Saturday morning, and they can just take my bail out of it on Saturday night.

It's "Paddy", like the wagon. Slainte.
Point taken. No Irish in my blood lines that I know of so I will defer to others on that.

d mcmuth, if you and your animatron buddies are driving around on St Patrick's Night and roll up on a DUI checkpoint, please, have a video camera in your car!!
And remember folks - there is no law against video and/or audio recording cops with your cell phone. The PA Supreme Court recently clarifed that it is perfectly legal when a cop is performing his duties as he has no expectation of privacy - and neither do you as the cops are audio and video recording you, but with the LMPD this equipment is known to "malfunction" when you later question their behavior during a traffic stop.
I would not let them know you are doing it as it might be the difference between getting a ticket or not (or getting falsely arrested for doing it), but it is a wise thing to do in case you decide to appeal a ticket and the cop lies about what he said or what happened.

Not likely. I sold my car a few years back and walk everywhere now. It'll be "stumbling" everywhere on St. Patty's Day, of naturally.
Spkeaing of drunk people:

Not sure where St. Patty's ranks, but I read Thanksgiving is #1 for drunk driving and New Year's is a distant second.
Apparently a lot of people think to not drive or get designated drivers on New Year's because they know they will be drinking, but they don't think about it for Thanksgiving and get behind the wheel with a few too many.
I'd assume people plan ahead for St. Patty's as well and are more careful, but also not a night I would want to be driving around a lot given what could be on the road.
Enjoy, Doug! I'm too old for this stuff
