Congratulations to our one and only Carla, on recognition that can only begin to acknowledge her caring, efforts, and persistence. Congratulations Carla! http://www.mainlinemedianews.com/articles/2012/...0972770dcf6346401224.txt |

Very well deserved honor for a long-time, preservation-minded, Lower Merion resident who has contributed immeasurably to the stewardship of areas in our Township.

Unfortunately, all Lower Merion citizens who pay attention realize that Carla's statement doesn't apply reliably to a position on the Board of Commissioners, even though the Commissioner honorarium is so low as to make them essentially volunteers.
Fortunately, the Township has some other volunteer citizens who provide informed, if not empowered, vocal antidotes to the obvious, frequent personal and political gain actions and decisions of many Commissioners.
Carla, Congratulations and thank you for all your work in the area including the historical marker you obtained for the Wayne Natatorium in Radnor. A 100 ft x 500 ft outdoor swimming pool that was in Wayne over 100 years ago. An olympic size pool is only 82 ft wide x 164 ft long. (50 meters long) That was one enormous pool.
Keep up the good work!
Congrats, Carla!
Well deserved and well timed given some personal attacks you just took over on Patch knocking you for what this article rightly praises you for doing.

There is no mention of your fine work as a Citizen Journalist.
I fixed up the link and frontpaged this.

Aww Lexo, thanks. That is really sweet...I am sure there are plenty who think I should never be recognized for anything, so I appreciate your kindness.
