One thing you can count on - by the time the two candidates and their parties are done with each other with all their attack ads and secret PAC attacks, not very many people will respect either candidate or either party.

Politicians are already held in low esteem by most Americans, and this presidential campaign will only make it worse.

It's interesting to see how this is shaping up, but not surprising. Obama is going to pound Romney on a being rich, out-of-touch, destroyer of middle class jobs while raising taxes on the middle class and lowering them for the rich.

Romney will pound Obama one being out-of-touch for never having a real job like real people while pounding him on the terrible state of the economy and job market.

The PAC's and secret, wealthy donors (Obama has them too) will then come in with the truly underhanded attack ads.

One thing neither side will discuss is how they have the same foreign policy and agree on all these unconstitutional, undeclared, endless and needless wars - and that we need more of them. Neither side will discuss how they agree on free foreign aide that steals from taxpayers as these are financial gifts to other countries while we can't come close to balancing our own budget - along with the inanity of giving foreign aide to both allies and their enemies.

Neither side will discuss how they are in bed with Wall Street, bought-and-paid for by many, many multi-million and multi-billion dollar corporations, how they have signed legislation (Romney did this as governor) that benefits these corporations while harming their competitors - and thus harming competition, prices and job growth.

Neither side will discuss how they have the same fiscal and monetary policies involving our $16 trillion and ever growing national debt. They can harp on each other about taxes, but they see eye-to-eye on how the economy is being "managed" into a never-ending state of decay by Congress and the Federal Reserve.

Neither side will discuss how they have no respect for our civil liberties or the rule of law, what with all the unconstitutional executive orders (some eventually backed by Congress) that usurp the legislative and judicial branches as well as the Constitution and provide for warrantless spying and searches of American citizens, the ability for the military to indefinitely detain/rendition a U.S. citizen with no charges, no right to trial, and no lawyer, the use of torture, the executive ability to assassinate a U.S. citizen with no right to trial at the sole discretion of the executive branch, etc., etc.

Neither side will discuss how they both agree to spend, spend, spend money they (we) don't have, and albeit with slightly different priorities - except when it comes to bailing out Wall Street at the expense of Main Street, where they both agree with how that has been handled. They both certainly agree on spending more money on a military that already spends as much money on deadly weapons (many of the mass destruction type) as the rest of the world combined - yet we can't come close to balancing the budget. They both certainly agree on printing more inflationary money out of thin air to fund all this, which helps the wealthy and connected who get their hands on the funny money first while wiping out the middle class with the inflation and ensuing boom/bust cycles this causes.

Neither side will discuss gun control, abortion or other wedge issues that could decide the election one way or the other.

Neither side will discuss all their broken campaign promises and flip-flops. I'd say Mitt has flipped more on issues as the above YouTube demonstrates, but Obama has broken the most serious campaign promises like ending Bush's wars, ending Bush's torture, ending Bush's rendition, ending Bush's spying on Americans, etc.

They will discuss taxes, how each has supposedly harmed the economy (while they have the exact same fiscal and monetary policies), who had a better job before running for president, and perhaps gay marriage - something I support, but should be an issue for the states - and marriage is ideally an issue government is not involved in at all.

Obama/Romney 2012. Same/Same.

Well, the Obama SuperPAC ad that is the YouTube that started this blog thread is Getting Talked About elsewhere - and Democrats are not happy with it.

Lanny Davis, a former top adviser to President Bill Clinton, today issued a scathing rebuke to a controversial new Democratic super PAC ad that ties Mitt Romney to a woman's death from cancer.

"I'm pretty sad for our country that we have presidential candidates engaging in sophomoric - and that's a compliment - sophomoric name calling," Davis said in an interview on WMAL radio in Washington.

Davis says both Romney and Obama, and their supporters, have sponsored ads "that make us all want to take a shower." But when it comes to the cancer ad, he said the pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA Action has gone too far.

"Bill Burton needs to go back to ethics school," Davis said of the group's senior strategist, who is a former Obama White House spokesman. "He knows perfectly well that the ad is misleading and disgusting and he needs to apologize for it."

The former Clinton aide, however, says Romney and his supporters "dumped garbage" into Iowa. Davis is particularly critical of a Romney TV ad that features Obama out-of-context, citing a quote from John McCain about running on the economy in 2008.

"This is disgusting on both sides," he said.

VIDEO OF THE DAY

So Romney is admitting that he has an unfairly low tax rate and is unwilling to pay his fair share just like everyone else.

I never thought he'd be this stupid before speaking>

I posted above why I see very little difference between Obama and Romney.

The first half of this YouTube gets in Obama. The second half gets into Romney.

Note the largest contributor to the super pacs of both candidates is Goldman Sachs.

No matter who wins, Goldman Sachs and Wall Street wins.

No matter who wins, Goldman Sachs and Wall Street wins.

Recent information on Wall Street firms' employees' differential giving to parties for the 2012 election suggests that WS employees expect to win a lot bigger if Romney wins.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/wall-street-leaderless-rules-fight-230100049.html

Wall Street banks have shifted their allegiance this campaign cycle to Republicans who fought the regulations passed by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama. Four years ago, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) employees gave three-fourths of their campaign donations to Democrats, including Obama. This time, they're showering 70 percent of their contributions on Republicans, according to Center for Responsive Politics data through June 30 compiled by Bloomberg.

Of the 10 companies whose employees gave the most to Romney Victory, a fundraising committee supporting presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, nine were Wall Street firms, according to Federal Election Commission data. Romney, co-founder of private-equity firm Bain Capital LLC, has pledged to repeal new banking rules.

Correct. If you watch the YouTube I posted above about Romney/Obama and Goldman Sachs, a news source in the YouTube states Wall Street has shifted to Romney - and it has for direct campaign contributions this election cycle.

Last election cycle Wall Street preferred Obama over McCain for direct campaign contributions.

However, as I stated, a news source from the YouTube states that the top money giver to the supers PACs of both Romney and Obama this election cycle is Goldman Sachs. Super PACs allow for unlimited contrubtions, as opposed ot the $2,500 limit for the direct campaign of the candidate.

Everybody knows Romney is in bed with Wall Street. What the YouTube points out is how Obama has appointed former top Goldman Sachs employees to top administrative positions.

Goldman Sachs is hedging by making sure both candidates are bought off - and both candidates gladly accept their money and both candidates are thus beholden to Goldman Sachs to whatever extent their conscious allows.

As for the rest of Wall Street, Romney is the cash king this election when Obama was last election, but don't think Wall Street as a whole is forgetting about Oabma. How can they given the number of former Wall Street fat cats Obama has put in high level admistrative positions?

Obama’s treasury secretary Tim Geithner is the unltimate Wall Street insider as fomer chair of the New York Fed from 2003-07 when Wall Street was going bonkers during the boom. During that time period Geithner was in daily contact with all the Wall Street bigwigs. Geithner essentially turned a blind eye to the Wall Street frenzy when he had enormous regulatory power as chair fo the NY Fed.

Geithner and Fed chair Ben Bernanke were appointed during the Bush adminstration. Bernanke remains Fed chair under Obama and Geithner got the other piece of the pie as Obama's treasury secretary (Bush's treasury secretary was former Goldman Sachs CEO Hank Paulson who worked closely with Geithner when Geithner was NY Fed chair during the boom). Nothing changed here from Bush to Obama - and it won't if Romney is elected, which he won't be.

No matter what party is in control and who the president is, Wall Street still owns the White House, Congress and the Federal Reserve.
