Transformer fire knocks out power to Greenhill Condominiums

Nearly 1,000 residents of the Greenhill Condominiums were without power Monday evening after a transformer rputured shortly before 7 p.m. Penn Wynne Fire Company Deputy Chief Edward Schmid said firefighters dispatched to the report of a vehicle fire. They arrived to the a portable transformer smoking on the rear of a truck. The transformer had ruptured, leaking fluids into a storm drain that feeds into Indian Creek. Firefighters used oil dry to build a dike.

Remington Road Bridge work begins July 11
