In 1944, as World War II raged on, there was real concern stateside that it might reach America’s shores. To be prepared, Narberth Borough residents came together to form the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Narberth. It also had a mission to provide transportation from Philadelphia’s ports for men and women returning from the fields of combat.
