Montco Court of Common Pleas orders LMSD to rescind its 4.4 percent tax hike for 2016-17

Calling it “unlawful” a Montgomery County judge Monday ordered the Lower Merion School District to rescind its 4.4 tax increase for the 2016-17 school year budget. At the same time, County Court of Commons Pleas Judge Joseph A. Smyth issued an order preventing the Board of School Directors of enacting a tax of over 2.4 percent more than was in effect for the prior year.
