Who is Welcome Here?
|
This website is primarily (but not exclusively) for citizens of Lower Merion Township.
Do we have to live in Lower Merion Township to join this site? No, but it helps. :-) If you live near by, grew up around here, or just have an interest in the issues being discussed here, then that's fine. Nobody's going to flip out or anything. Okay, I joined the site. Now what? Why not introduce yourself? One you're logged in, click the link on the left that says Write Blog Entry and write a blog entry telling us a little about yourself. I'll notice it when I next check the site, tag it as "introduction", and push it to the front page of this site for visability. What else can we/should we discuss here? Anything that is of importance in Lower Merion township and the surrounding areas. Examples include:
We have local businesspeople, attorneys, journalists, and elected officials who read and participate in this site on a daily basis. We even have one walking, talking chicken sandwich! |

Why is the name "Save Ardmore Coalition"?
Why is your name "DollarMeUp" ?
DollarMeUp Lexo is given to snarky, pointless and insulting comments. Welcome. Many disagree which is the point of the discussion. Disagreement can lead to useful results. Most are polite and respectful but there are a few who lack manners.
Dollar Me Up, let's not be so testy. That was just another blogger asking a question. Sometimes the stories with why people choose a certain blog handle are fun. I don't think they meant it in anyway other than a question.
I am not sure what the most recent posts mean. but, can anyone else explain?
the word "save" implies something is in danger - maybe I misunderstood the meaning of the name. If it is in danger, then of what?
Save Ardmore Coalition the group was initially formed in response to the attempted hijack of part of Ardmore's Historic Business district via Eminent Domain For Private Gain. From there as a group and as individuals we have continued to volunteer within the community (Ardmore and other part of Lower Merion) and have also lent our community activism talents to other communities. This blog/website was started initially to give us a voice back in the day when eminent domain wasn't sexy enough for most politicians and media to care about. Since then this website has continued to grow as a community group and resource.
Also see what Doug wrote that is on the front page of the website:
